homu is an Italian architecture office founded and directed by Lucia Zamponi and Filippo Nanni. The work of the studio receives mentions and awards in national and international architecture competitions and is published on websites and magazines. homu is among the winners of the NewItalianblood prize 2017 for the top 10 Italian architecture offices under 36. In 2017 homu won the international competition to design an innovative education complex in Macerata, Italy. homu's architecture is eclectic and particularly sensitive to singular and unusual spaces and contents. We design museums, theaters, schools, libraries, offices, retail spaces, houses, interiors and more. We believe in people, team working, process, options, possibilities and future.
We have lived and worked in Denmark, France, Japan, the Netherlands and the US. With a strong experience on a large range of projects we aim to create decisive, innovative and immediate reading architecture. Our Italian background defined a deep relationships with history. Japan has been essential to the definition of a clear and functional aesthetic based on the balance between architecture, nature and people. Working in Europe and in US has led to a broader reflection on cities, program and context.
Lucia is a member of the Chambre of Italian Architects and licensed architect n. 316 OAPPC Fermo. She worked with Rem Koolhaas on the curatorial and exhibition project "Monditalia" within the 14th Venice Architecture Biennale.
